Haryana Rajasthan Bus Issue: How the Dispute Began

The issue began when a female constable from Haryana Police did not pay for her ticket in a Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) bus. The bus conductor filmed the incident during a brief argument, and the video quickly went viral on social media. The next day, Haryana Police started issuing fines to Rajasthan Roadways buses, prompting Rajasthan authorities to also take action by fining and impounding Haryana Roadways buses.

During a Delhi-bound trip, the female constable refused to pay the fare upon entering Haryana’s territory, leading to an argument with the conductor. In response to this incident, the Rajasthan Roadways employees’ union protested. The matter escalated to the state government level, with RSRTC sending a letter to the Haryana DGP, requesting action against the female constable. RSRTC also informed the state government of the entire incident.

Haryana Rajasthan Bus Issue: Protests from Roadways Union and Appeals to Government

Roadways union leaders alleged that Rajasthan Police issued unwarranted fines on Haryana Roadways buses for reasons such as permits, uniforms, and overspeeding. A Haryana Roadways union representative shared that Rajasthan Police issued a fine for having eight extra passengers. The union claimed that if the bus has more children traveling with women passengers, the driver and conductor do not have the authority to ask them to disembark.

The union appealed to Haryana’s Transport Minister, Anil Vij, requesting assistance in releasing the impounded buses.
